I. The Color Era

“I am entering my color era,” I proudly proclaimed several times this week to friends and family; a bit unclear as to why I felt the need to share. I should have said I am re-entering it. Last year, I went on a bit of a spree purchasing emerald, fluorescent yellow, and Klein blue to punch up my wardrobe of white, gray, navy, and camel. Then at some point I panicked. Clearly I had lost my mind. [Deep breaths] No. It was simply winter. Seasonal Affective Wardrobe Disorder™.  Every year I go through the same cycle and every year I am freaked out by it:

  • Winter: Constrictive; sweatshirts, slippers so why do I have so many clothes?

  • Spring: Expansive; entire wardrobe in play and my god I have a great closet!

  • Summer: Constrictive; tees, tanks and why does humidity… be humid..ityng?

  • Fall: Expansive; entire wardrobe in play and my god I have missed my sweaters!
